If you about to retire, are semi-retired or retired completely then the U3A may be ideal for you.
It is for people who wish to join with others to broaden their minds and improve their knowledge. We work together in friendly and stimulating environments to enjoy ourselves and experience new things. You may wish to broaden your horizons; or share your own knowledge, skills and experiences with others.
Worldwide organisation
The U3A is a worldwide organisation set up specifically to serve those who are of retirement age. There are no exams, no educational requirements and no compulsory activities. Costs are kept to an absolute minimum and our activities are arranged to take place during daytime.
St. Albans U3A is one of a number of active groups in Christchurch. We meet on the 4th Thursday of every month at St Albans Uniting Church, 36 Nancy Avenue.
There are lots of activity groups which meet on a regular basis, with new ones starting all the time.
If you think that U3A may be for you why not come along to one of our meetings and listen to our visiting speaker. We arrive at about 9:45 am to socialise over a cuppa and a biscuit. Our meetings start shortly after 10 am, with announcements followed by a guest speaker.
